Archdiocesan Choir Auditions from 1:00-6:00pm on three Sundays: July 25 - August 1 - August 8 : Auditions held at the Office of Worship, 2403 Holcombe Blvd., 713-741-8760; www.archgh.org/choir; e-mail: archdiocesan-choir@archgh.org. Requirements: a.) Member of the Roman Catholic Church, b.) At least 18 years of age, c.) Previous choral experience is not necessary but preferred, d.) Audition music and preparation notes will be posted online. Season Highlights: Episcopal (Bishop) Ordination | Dedication Mass for the new Cathedral pipe organ - October 2010 | Fall Concert - Nov. 21 featuring the Requeim by Durflé | Carnegie Hall Concert in NY May 2011 Solo choir performances as well as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass with Dr. Charles Hausmann; performance at St. Patrick's Cathedral and singing for the high mass at St. Ignatius Loyola on Park Avenue. Under the direction of Dr. Rick Lopez, this select chorus of 60+ voices from all over the Archdiocese, provides music for the core liturgical events at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart such as ordinations, the annual Chrism Mass and other Archdiocesan Liturgies celebrated by Cardinal DiNardo. The choir also performs an annual Fall concert to benefit the Liturgical Music Scholarship Fund - a fund created to foster Catholic careers in liturgical music.
